Your Safety
The two biggest causes of injuries and fatalities while using a hammock are falling from the hammock and trees/objects falling on you.
Always test your hanging points for stability, never attach your hammock to a weak, dead or dying tree, and never set up your hammock at a height where a fall or malfunction could cause injury.
When in doubt, find a new spot!
Equipment, even brand-new equipment, can fail. Trees or structures that appear sturdy are not always what they seem. Be smart and always think about your safety first.
Tree Safety
When used properly and on trees with healthy, strong bark, your hammock suspension should not cause any damage to the tree. However, not all trees are created equal and some tree species have a soft bark layer which can be damaged.
Killing or harming a tree so you can enjoy a nap isn't a fair trade in our book.
If you have no other alternative trees to hang from, using soft & wide padding underneath your hammock straps can help resolve the issue. Items like a towel or piece of clothing can be used to prevent damage.
After a few minutes in your hammock, we recommend checking to make sure you're not causing any damage to the tree.
It's up to you to be smart about your impact and safety - leave no trace!!

This is a great hammock! It's wide and long enough to lay comfortably at an angle to sleep in Its a great price for something well made.
